DigiRoad are delighted to announce a strategic partnership with the European Youth Card Association (EYCA), the non-profit organisation representing 38 national youth card issuers across Europe. The collaboration will see the European Youth Card embedded directly into the DigiRoad eCampus mobile credential, transforming a student's university ID into a passport for pan-European opportunity.
Through this integration, students at DigiRoad-enabled universities will gain instant, in-app access to more than 60,000 EYCA partner discounts and benefits, spanning travel, accommodation, cultural institutions, language learning, well-being services, and everyday essentials. There is no separate application, no plastic card to carry, and no additional cost to the student — the entitlement activates the moment a verified student credential is issued.

For universities, the integration is significant beyond student perks. Mobility is a strategic priority for European higher education, and the European Youth Card is widely recognised across Erasmus+ partners, public transport networks, and cultural institutions in participating countries. Embedding it into the campus credential makes outbound and inbound student journeys measurably easier — from intra-EU travel and accommodation to access to museums, theatres, and language courses while on exchange.
The partnership also strengthens the value proposition of the credential itself. The DigiRoad eCampus mobile credential already handles secure on-campus access, library and facility entry, payments, and verifiable academic identity. Adding EYCA benefits extends that utility from the gate of the campus to the wider continent, reinforcing the credential's role as a single, trusted student identity wherever a young person needs it.
Security and privacy remain foundational. EYCA entitlements are bound to a verified student credential issued by the home institution and stored within the same secure mobile container as the campus ID. Students retain full control over which benefits are activated and how their data is used, in line with both EYCA's governance framework and DigiRoad's privacy commitments.
Rollout will begin in 2026 with a first cohort of universities already on the DigiRoad eCampus platform, followed by phased expansion across additional EYCA member countries. DigiRoad and EYCA are jointly committed to delivering a seamless, secure, and genuinely useful experience — one that turns a campus ID into a meaningful gateway to European citizenship for the next generation of students.
